Lillycombe Estate

The Culbone Stables and The Lillycombe Estate share the same ownership whilst operating as separate businesses. Situated on the A39 northerly coast road between Porlock and Lynmouth, The Culbone is ideally positioned at the head of an outstanding scenic valley and the moor beyond.

The owner has substantially upgraded the premises in the last 4 years, now offering 8 en-suite rooms in the main building and a further 2 double bedrooms in the newly extended ‘Lodge’ immediately opposite. A major building project completed in early Summer 2021 provides for private dining parties with a panoramic view and outside eating area if weather permits.

During the game shooting season (1st September to 1st February) the new private dining facility will be used exclusively for the clients of Lillycombe Sporting Club. The Estate has several fabulous bridle paths, one of which commences close to the proximity to Robber’s Bridge (mentioned in Lorna Doone), terminating at The Culbone and is well worth the effort!
